The Deputy Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo has asked government to provide medical insurance to all judicial officers.
According to Owinyi-Dollo, apart from the High Court Judges, other judicial officers are not given medical insurance.
Speaking at the High Court during the function to pay tribute to the late Family Division Judge, Jessica Naiga Ayebazibwe, Owiny, said that it is unfair for the government not to prioritize the health of judicial officers.
According to the Judiciary Senior Communications Officer Solomon Muyita, Only 79 Judges receive 200,000 shillings each month for medical insurance.
Muyita says that in 2015 during a meeting with judicial officers, President Museveni pledged to ensure that all judicial officers benefit from the medical insurance system.
Dozens of mourners described Naiga as peaceful and committed person to her judicial duties.
Post-mortem report indicates that she died of Kidney failure at Malcolm Clinic in Kampala.
